Stories from past retreats
What kind of magic happens here?
Here are real examples of past participants…
During breathwork, one man experienced his late father coming to him and saying, “I don’t see you as a failure.”
“I’ve never felt as safe around men as I do here.”
Looking into a stranger’s eyes for a few minutes undid something years of talking hadn’t.
“Instead of trying harder, I’m ready to relax into my own wisdom.”
After coming home from Mexico, one woman saw a photo of herself and immediately thought, “Oh, I look cute.” She was used to picking herself apart.
During breathwork, one woman who’d experienced love as conditional saw her parents holding her as a newborn… loving her simply because she existed. “At one point they just loved me. Full stop.”
A 68-year-old woman chose to prioritize her own needs for the first time.
Many participants describe walking into the retreat space and immediately starting to cry because it finally feels safe to be held and put their guard down.
“For the first time in my life I felt the energy of brotherhood and sisterhood.”
After the retreat, one participant reached out to a brother they’d barely spoken to in 15 years. The next day, he wished them a happy birthday for the first time in over 20 years.
One day, the women revolted and created a spontaneous goddess plunge.
During breathwork, one participant saw generations of his ancestors. His mother (who was in the same breathwork session) told him she’d had the same vision at the same time, and saw him in her vision also surrounded by the ancestors.
“I can ask for what I need and it can actually be received as a gift by the other person.”
A woman left the wedding ring from her previous marriage on the altar as an act of letting go.
Sharing their art and music used to feel embarrassing—or like bragging. After Mexico, one participant gave notice at work to pursue being an artist. “My prayer is that I don’t chicken out.” … and they didn’t.
Back at work, a man spoke up to his boss on behalf of his coworkers. He’d discovered how much of his life revolved around avoiding embarrassment and learned to embrace it now.
After more than 20 years of carrying other people’s ideas of what makes a successful man, one participant realized: “I don’t need more clients. I need to be present and grounded for myself and my family.”
How does the retreat work?
Arriving
Bring what’s real.
Come with something you want to work through, a possibility you’re excited about, or simply a feeling that something needs to change. We start with what’s happening for you and follow what emerges as the week unfolds. Being in person for a week gives our work time to build, like a symphony.
The retreat
Go beyond “understanding”.
Through breathwork, sweat lodge, deep connection, and spiritual practices, we go beyond the mind and work with your nervous system, heart, and spirit. There’s a difference between knowing you deserve love and actually being able to let it in.
Your 2027 vision
Take it into your life.
The clarity and insights you experience will help shape your vision for 2027. That might involve embracing parts of yourself you’ve held back, pursuing a bold goal, or letting something go. After we’re home, we’ll reconnect for a group integration call and encourage you to create groups with each other for ongoing support and accountability.
Why Tepoztlán, Mexico?
Tepoztlán is a sacred place in the indigenous culture. It’s known as the birthplace of Quetzalcóatl, the feathered serpent god of ancient Mesoamerica.
But more importantly, what makes this location special is that we’ve become friends with the native spiritual elders here. They’ve warmly invited us into their homes and sacred practices. They even pray for us when we’re not here. Their wisdom, depth, and love are part of the heart of this retreat, which keeps us returning.
This January will be our 10th retreat here. When I brought the first group to Mexico, I had no idea we’d be coming back all these years later. But something special kept happening here.
People have such profound experiences that they keep wanting to come back. And when they get home, friends often ask what happened to them. They seem lighter, clearer, and more like themselves. Once their friends hear about the retreat, they usually want to come too!

Hosted by Jacob Sokol
As your coach, I’m not here to impose my vision of who you should become. I want to help you discover what’s genuinely true for you and live from that place.
One of the things I’ve become unusually good at is hearing what’s underneath what you’re saying: Where are you stuck? What’s your deeper truth? What’s the obvious thing you’re not seeing? What’s your next-level of development that’s wanting to emerge?
I work with the whole person, not just their thinking. That often means slowing down to get more present, tracking what’s happening in your nervous system, connecting with the deeper guidance of your inner wisdom, and translating that into action steps for your life.
Our retreat sessions can be practical, emotional, spiritual, funny, confronting, or light: sometimes all in the same session. I won’t force or shame you into doing anything. But I will care enough to challenge you when I think you’re selling yourself short.
